Reflexology
Reflexology was created in 1913 by William H Fitzgerald and Dr. Edwin Bowers, the premise of which is that zones on the sole of the foot have a numbing effect on certain parts f the body. The theory was expanded by Eunice D. Ingham who effectively created the reflexology we know of today. Ingham mapped the hands and feet into zones that he thought had a direct effect on various parts of the body including organs.
Very little evidence for Reflexology being an effective treatment for medical conditions has been forthcoming, but the same can be said for many other remedial treatments including massage. This does not mean Reflexology is ineffective.
At Massage Muswell Hill, we have provided all thoughts of remedial treatments; from Acupuncture to Sports massage, and we let the client decide for themselves if the treatment is beneficial.
